FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

For Baby Boomers, Joy Sloan Jinks, Swings into Action to Shift the Paradigm on Aging in her New Book Dynamic Aging: I Intend to Live Forever, So Far, So Good

with a Forward by Jean Houston

Joy’s book, Dynamic Aging: I Intend to Live Forever, So Far, So Good, is written for the Baby Boomer generation. “Did you know that 10,000 Americans retire every day? So let’s start LIVING and shift the cultural perception of aging from negative to positive.  Elders are joining together to make a difference in the world through many areas such as: sports, arts, politics, community organizing and entrepreneurship – to name a few,” according to Joy.

Through her exciting book, she defies the caricatures of the elderly as feeble, incompetent, a drain on society or worse of all “cute” by creating a new model of what it means to live as a dynamic elder!! “In the years between 55 and 75, we have the opportunity to re-create and re-tool ourselves and to celebrate this most engaging, productive and creative time of life.  We have an opportunity to use our skills, wisdom and resources to create the world we want our great grandchildren to enjoy.”

Joy challenges her readers and fellow “Baby Boomers”, who are free of the responsibilities of the working world, to re-fire rather than retire. In her book, Dynamic Aging, she offers spiritual strategies and psycho-social exercises to grow rather than stagnate.

Joy’s book Dynamic Aging: I Intend to Live Forever, So Far, So Good, is available on Amazon.com and in local stores. Joy, best known as the founder of Swamp Gravy, Georgia’s Folk Life Play, has changed her focus from the arts and community development to rallying “seasoned” citizens to adopt a dynamic approach to life after 60!!
